Zips Car Wash signs multi-year sports sponsorship deal
ZIPS Car Wash recently struck a new multi-year sponsorship agreement through Learfield with 13 collegiate athletic programs. It’s ZIPS first foray into college sports marketing. The deal represents the largest sponsorship of its kind in the car wash industry.
ZIPS Car Wash currently owns 250 car washes across 24 states in the US. They will initially be sponsoring six universities: Arkansas, Baylor, Georgia, UNC, South Carolina and Tennessee. ZIPS will have category exclusivity at these schools, where Learfield is the athletics multimedia rights holder.
Co-branded
It’s the first sponsor deal where multimedia rightsholder Learfield is assisting a company in executing co-branded name, image and likeness campaigns with multiple institutions and athletes.
“ZIPS is the only company in the car wash industry who is investing at this level in blue chip universities”, said Gene Dinkens, CEO of ZIPS Car Wash. “We’re proud to lead the way in collegiate sports sponsorships on a broader scale and to show our support in the communities we serve.”
45 new locations in one year
ZIPS growth has and will continue to be via acquisition and greenfield development as the company expands across the US. Only last year, ZIPS acquired 45 locations with a growth rate of nearly 50%, making it a record year of expansion thus far for the company.
The company is headquartered in Plano, Texas and is the largest privately held car wash operator nationwide. ZIPS is among the fastest growing express car wash chains in the country.
