Metro Express Car Wash is honored to announce its nomination for the 2024 Veteran Business Owner of the Year by the Idaho Veterans Chamber of Commerce. This prestigious nomination, part of the annual Champions of Freedom Awards, highlights Metro Express Car Wash’s dedication to Idaho’s veteran community and commitment to service.

As the only family-owned, locally owned, and veteran-owned car wash in Idaho, Metro Express Car Wash proudly upholds Idaho’s values and community focus. In a market where all other local car washes have recently been acquired by Wall Street firms, Metro Express stands alone as an Idaho-based, family business dedicated to quality, service, and community engagement.

Founded by Bill Martin, a Vietnam veteran and former Green Beret medic, Metro Express Car Wash is a true Idaho legacy. Bill’s commitment to service and integrity lives on through his son, Derek Martin, a second-generation Idahoan, whose children now work at Metro Express locations washing cars, demonstrating the family’s hands-on dedication to Idaho communities.

Recently, Bill and his brother, John Martin—a 92 year-old US Marine who served in Korea—participated in the Idaho Veterans Parade, proudly representing Metro Express Car Wash and honoring their shared dedication to service. Bill’s son, Andrew, also a US Marine, further extending the family’s deep commitment to military service.

“I am truly honored by this nomination, which reflects not only my personal journey but the dedication of our entire team at Metro Express Car Wash,” said Bill Martin. “As a veteran and business owner, it’s incredibly meaningful to know that our efforts to support Idaho’s veteran community are making a difference. This nomination is a tribute to the veterans and active service members who inspire us every day.”

Metro Express Car Wash proudly supports veterans through direct contributions and ongoing initiatives. The company donates regularly to veteran organizations and offers discounted services to veterans. Additionally, Metro Express provides complimentary car washes to veterans and active military personnel on Memorial Day, First Responders Day, and Veterans Day as a gesture of gratitude for their service.

The Champions of Freedom Awards Ceremony will take place on November 14, 2024, at 5:30 PM at the Galaxy Event Center in Meridian, Idaho. Metro Express Car Wash is excited to celebrate the achievements of all nominees who tirelessly support Idaho’s heroes.
